We are currently seeking a dynamic Financial Analyst Intern to join Chicago Trading Company (CTC)! As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will be challenged to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment and will play a significant role in the firm's daily financial operations. You will work on high-impact projects that will immediately contribute to the success of the company, complete financial analyses and reporting, and communicate with other finance staff throughout the day.
What you’ll do
As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will be immersed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will play a crucial role in our daily financial operations. Your contributions will be both immediate and impactful. Throughout the summer, you will join our finance team, engaging in project work, conducting financial analyses and reporting, and maintaining regular communication with other finance staff. As part of the Summer Associate cohort, you will have the opportunity to learn and network with Quant Trading Interns and Software Engineering Interns.
- Analyze, monitor and report on the firm’s financial performance and condition.
- Assist in developing financial models and projections to support business strategies.
- Collaborate across CTC to provide service and support for the business’s financial management activities, ensuring complete and accurate financial reporting.
- Break down strategic problems and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Prepare and document financial period analysis for financial information packages, such as monthly run-rate forecasts, quarterly forecast to actuals comparisons.
- Ensure financial results are well understood and clearly communicate their impact business outcomes.
What to Expect
The internship program gives you insight into our culture and an inward look into what our business is all about. You will participate in two classroom learning experiences including: a week-long Basics of Options class and a multi-week class on the fundamentals of market making (Mock Trading). You will also attend planned social activities and talks from various business leaders to propel your professional growth and build your network with our employees and fellow interns. You will:
- Work in an impactful role mirroring that of a full-time Financial Analyst
- Get hands-on experience with financial analysis and exposure to our financial technology
- Have weekly one-on-one meetings with your manager to ensure you are progressing and learning throughout the program
- Receive mentorship from members of our finance team
- Experience a culture with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration built through various educational and social activities

- You have a desire to work in tandem with financial analysts, accountants, risk managers, and other experts to further our goal of providing world-class financial analysis
- You are driven and are an initiative-taking individual that only gets stronger as part of a collaborative team
- You love solving complex problems
- You are intellectually curious and like to challenge the status quo
- You can effectively communicate sophisticated ideas both written and verbally
- You have strong analytical skills
- You have basic programming skills or have the desire to learn
- No prior experience in finance is necessary, but a deep curiosity and hunger to learn about finance and financial analysis is crucial
Key requirements
- You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- You will graduate between December 2025-June 2026
- You have a demonstrated record of success (academics, awards, volunteering, community service, etc.)
- You are willing to relocate to Chicago, IL for the summer
